Hissop Energy, LLC was established in 2009 by William L. (Bill) Abernathy, former Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, and a Director of Vintage Petroleum, Inc., of Tulsa, OK. In Bill’s early years at Vintage, he managed the Acquisitions organization. Vintage was sold to Occidental Petroleum in 2006. Prior to joining Vintage, Bill was employed by Exxon Company USA, where he served in various technical and managerial capacities, with assignments in drilling, production and reservoir engineering. He has B.S. and M.S. Degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Auburn University.
